WAGGA GOLD CUP CARNIVAL 2020
In line with precautionary measures being taken to prevent the spread of COVID-19, the Murrumbidgee Turf Club has decided there will be no public access to the Wagga Gold Cup Carnival on Thursday, April 30 and Friday, May 1.
This decision is in line with advice from the Federal Government and Racing NSW.
The MTC will continue to liaise with government officials and Racing NSW to proceed with the racing portion of the carnival, with only essential staff, licensed racing participants and broadcast representatives allowed on course.
If the Government advice is to change prior to the 2020 Navigate Advisors Wagga Gold Cup, the club will make the appropriate announcements at that time.
The club will still host its picnic race day on Saturday, March 28. Once again, only essential staff, licensed racing participants and broadcast representatives will be allowed on course. These restrictions will also be enforced on our Monday March 30 and Sunday April 19 race days, with the latter being Kooringal Stud Prelude day.
“We apologise for the disappointment this will cause to our members, sponsors, corporate partners and those that were planning to attend the Navigate Advisors Wagga Gold Cup Carnival,” MTC CEO Steven Keene said.
For those who have purchased tickets to the Carnival via trybooking.com, you will receive a full refund. This may take some time and we ask people to be patient as we work through processing the refunds.
